Effective Fundraising Ideas for High School Sports Teams

Raising funds for high school sports is essential, and selecting the right method is key. High School Car Magnets offer a great solution, showcasing team spirit and providing a high return on investment. They are ideal for funding needs such as uniforms and travel expenses. Additionally, school magnets serve as a continuous promotional tool, visibly displayed on vehicles to attract ongoing support.

Boost Team Spirit with Fundraising Car Magnets

Selling custom car magnets is an excellent way to raise funds. They are not only cost-effective but also promote team spirit. ARC Marketing offers America’s best car magnets, ideal for this purpose. These magnets have a high profit margin, making them a smart choice for funding uniforms and travel costs.

Host a Kids Summer Sports Camp

Organizing a sports camp for kids is another great fundraising idea. For instance, a high school volleyball team could host a volleyball camp. High school players can teach younger kids, who pay an entry fee. This approach raises funds and promotes the sport to younger players.

Organize a Silent Auction

Silent auctions, combined with a meal like a cookout, can generate significant funds. Local businesses can donate items for auction in exchange for event sponsorship. Participants enjoy the meal and bid on items, helping to raise money for the team.

Conduct a Car Wash

Car washes are a time-tested fundraising method for sports teams. They require minimal setup and can be effective, especially in good weather. Multiple car washes might be necessary throughout the year to meet fundraising goals.

Sell Candy at Events

Candy sales are popular and easy to organize. They can be an ongoing effort throughout the year. However, candy sales typically offer lower profit margins compared to other fundraising methods, such as car magnets.

Offer Fitness Classes

Fitness classes led by team members can be a unique fundraiser. Teams can offer a series of classes, charging either per session or for a package of sessions. This not only raises funds but also promotes health and fitness in the community.

Rent-a-Player for Day Jobs

A creative idea is to ‘rent’ team players for chores like yard work or other household tasks. This can be structured as an auction where community members bid for a player’s time. It’s a great way to involve players in fundraising activities.

Choosing the Right Fundraising Mix

Each of these ideas has its advantages. While car magnets from ARC Marketing offer an easy and profitable option, others like sports camps and fitness classes actively involve the team. Silent auctions and car washes engage the community, and candy sales can supplement ongoing fundraising efforts. Teams may find the most success in combining several of these strategies.

Remember, the key to successful fundraising lies in choosing methods that align with the team’s needs and community preferences. Whether it’s through high-quality car magnets, engaging camps, or interactive events, each fundraising activity contributes to the team’s success and spirit.

High School Magnets

Designing school magnets can be a time consuming process. Before beginning, our designers consider several factors that will affect the final design. One of those factors is the type of school; preschool, elementary, middle or high school.

For instance, when a preschool wants a custom design, we tend to use simple artwork and the primary colors (red, blue, green and yellow). Unless the client has an existing logo that they want to use, we will generally go with very “friendly” designs.

Elementary schools, middle schools and high schools have a different philosophy for their designs. For example, If the school mascot is a bear, an elementary school might want a bear cub. A middle school might want an adult bear and a high school might want a snarling bear showing his teeth. Obviously, the mascot is designed to be “age appropriate”. You don’t want to scare the little kids with a ferocious bear and you don’t want to embarrass the High School kids with a soft and cuddly bear. Middle School kids tend to align themselves with the High Schoolers… make it mean and aggressive!

Focusing on high school magnets, our background designing promotional items for the NFL, Major League Baseball, the NBA, the NHL and the NCAA has proven invaluable. Our designers have over 20 years’ experience for all the Professional Sports Leagues, and we leverage this experience to create a “Pro Sports” look for our high school magnets.

Look at the 2 magnets shown above. One was designed for James Madison High School in Vienna Virginia and the other magnet was designed for Plymouth North High School in Plymouth Massachusetts.

Both utilize the “minimalist” approach preferred by professional sports teams;

  • Very few words
  • Bold logo
  • 3 colors or less for impact

High school students are adults and they have abandoned their childish ways. They are very tribal when it comes to their school, and they want a car magnet that would not look out of place in an NFL Gift Shop or in the bookstore on the campus of any university. Not only that, but the seniors are now driving, and they will not put a lame magnet on their car!

Did you know that ARC Marketing does not charge for artwork? This means that you can leave all the heavy lifting to our art department. With just a little input from you, our team will design a magnet that every student will approve.

Getting started is simple. The easiest way is to fill out our “Virtual Magnet Request Form”. This form will give our artist the information they will need to begin the design process. After the initial rendering is completed, it will be emailed to you. Then you just let us know what changes to make and the next rendering will be emailed to you. We will make as many changes as you need to get the perfect design. It’s not only easy, it’s fun!

PTA and PTO fundraising car magnets

Car magnets for PTA and PTO Fundraising

PTA and PTO Fundraising

Welcome to the new PTA and PTO Officers

School’s out for summer, and that means relaxing days, hanging out with the kids at the pool. Unless you are one of the new officers in your PTA or PTO.

If you are one of those lucky souls, then your summer will also include planning for the upcoming school year. The duties and functions of your PTA/PTO are many and varied, but there is one constant…fundraising. Your PTA/PTO will be constantly raising money to help your school. The money you raise and gift to your school might be helping to purchase things as important as computers for the students, or even florescent vests for your Crossing Guards. There are hundreds of ways that your donated money will be used.

If you Google “PTA fundraising ideas” you’ll get dozens of ideas, and most of them are very labor-intensive. In fact, they will resemble a full-time job. Most of these fundraisers will make you scratch your head in disbelief (will these events actually make money?). To get an idea of what I’m talking about, just click on the link from PTO Today.  I can’t even guess at how much preparation these fundraisers require to pull off successfully, but these type of events are critical to fundraising.

Your fundraising year does not include a single event that will meet your financial goals by itself. PTA and PTO fundraising is a year-long effort that will include several different events. A successful fundraising year is a mixture of various money making opportunities.

The easiest fundraisers are those that do not involve scheduled events (car washes, bake sales, etc.), but involve sales of merchandise to the parents of your students. Again, you can Google this and get a lot of ideas, but most of the items offered to PTA/PTO’s are pretty lame. But there are some items that you can sell that don’t insult your intelligence, like car magnets customized for you school (I’m a little biased because ARC Marketing makes the highest quality car magnets in America).

Car magnets should be part of your fundraising mix. We will do all the design work for free (we have awesome artists who know how to create cool designs), and we’ll print them and ship them to you in 2 weeks or less. Car magnets can be stored forever, so you can sell them all school year long. And you can make a lot of money with a custom car magnet. For example, if your school bought 500 oval magnets (customized with your school colors, your school mascot, your school name, etc.) and sold them for $6 each (that’s our suggested selling price), you would make $2,260.00!!! Not bad!

So, here’s what you need to do next; have one of our artists start working on your design. It’s free, it’s easy and it’s fun. All that we need to know from you is a little bit about your school (name, mascot, etc.) To get started, just click here and complete a short questionnaire. In about one day, your new magnet design will magically appear in your in-box and you’re ready to go. Rather talk to a real person? Give us a call at 760-743-6340 and we can handle everything over the phone.

Happy Fundraising!

School Car Magnets

School Fundraising Car Magnets

Okay, it’s the middle of August, and your PTA/PTO still hasn’t finished their fundraising. Well, today could be the day that you can finally say “We’re Done!”.

The car magnet experts at ARC Marketing can design, print and deliver your new custom magnets in about 2 weeks. That means in about 14 days, your parents could be rockin’ your new magnet on their cars, trucks, mini vans, SUV’s and more.

Want to use this magnet in your refrigerator? No problem; this is a fridge-magnet on steroids. The magnetic strength of this magnet is about 10 times as strong as your typical fridge magnet. You can hold up a week’s worth of homework with this magnet. The days of slamming the fridge shut and having everything fall to the kitchen floor are over.

On your car, on your fridge, on your school locker… this magnet is going to put your school on the map and your fundraising on the fast-track to success.

How much can you sell these for? Quite a few schools are selling them for $10 each with no price resistance. Most parents realize that the money they pay for the magnet is a donation to the PTA, and the magnet is a gift for their donation, so in essence… money is no object.

How much money can you raise with our magnets? Let’s say you have us print 250 magnets at $2 each (your cost). Now let’s say you sell them for $7.50 each (that’s the average fundraising price). That’s a $5.50 profit on each magnet. Sell all 250 magnets and your PTA will raise $1,375. Try doing that with magazine subscriptions. Have a bigger school? Order more magnets and double your profits.

Now, we’re not saying that our car magnets are going to be all you need to do for fundraising this year, but custom car magnets should be part of your fundraising “mix”.

Let us help you get started with a free magnet design created just for you by one of our expert designers. It’s fast, it’s easy and it’s free. Just fill out a simple form, giving us an idea of how you would like your magnet to look, and we’ll get a design to you ASAP. Just click here, or give us a call at 760-743-6340.

High School Cross Country Fundraising Ideas

Cross Country Car Magnets

Car Magnets for High School Cross Country Teams

Let’s give a shout-out to one of the less recognized sports; High School Cross Country. These kids train and perform far from the huge crowds associated with High School Football and Basketball. They run around tracks in empty stadiums, they run through the forests, over hills, through valleys.

Without an attendance base like the football team enjoys, there is very little revenue coming in. And like most High School Sports, the funding is just not there like it was in the past.

Like most sports, the Cross Country Teams have booster clubs, created and staffed by the parents. Their job is not only to bring awareness to the Cross Country Team, but to help raise money to offset the costs associated with this sport.

There is a post on the internet by a Cross Country Booster Club (actually there are several and they all talk about the same expenses, so I assume most XC Teams have similar expenses), and this team has outlined all of the expenses (uniforms, sweats, camps, meet fees, overnight trips, coaching, etc.) and the total expense for a team of 50 runners is $25,450. That is $509 per runner.

Just Google “Cross Country Fundraising Ideas” and you are immediately hit with the usual suspects… How would you like to be going door-to-door selling…

  • “Frozen Cookie Dough Tubs” (2 pounds for $10? Makes my arteries constrict just thinking about it).
  • “Flower Bulbs” (I do enough yard work already. These would just sit in a drawer for the next 10 years).
  • “Candle Sales” (I don’t want to see a candle unless the power goes out).

Not only would these be humiliating for a High School Athlete to peddle door-to-door, they are only purchased out of pity. Nobody really wants any of this junk. On top of that, there is no awareness created by these products after the sale.

You know where I’m going with this, right? Car magnets allow you to double or triple your money, and after the sale, you have hundreds of cars with your High School Cross Country Magnet broadcasting your team logo. Plus car magnets are fat-free, do not cause unnecessary yardwork and are not a fire hazard (compared to the 3 other examples shown above).

We are not saying to give up on these other fundraisers (no matter how embarrassing they are). You cannot raise all of the money you need with car magnets alone. But they should be part of your Fundraising Mix. Car magnets will do at least two things that the other fundraisers cannot do… create a sense of awareness for your Cross Country Team, and give you a sense of pride for your sport (humiliation not included).

Let our highly skilled design-team create a car magnet that you will be proud to sell. Give us a call at 760-743-6340 or visit our website at www.arcmktg.com today!
