The high cost of youth sports

Youth Football is expensive!

Fundraising Car Magnets for Youth Sports

The high cost of youth sports, all youth sports (although some are more expensive than others) has led many families to reluctantly pass on Pop Warner Football or Little League Baseball. Those costs include:

  • Membership fees
  • Equipment
  • Travel

Add personal coaching and parent’s time off from work for games and travel and the cost can easily climb into the thousands of dollars per child. That’s a big burden for parents on an individual player level.

But what about the leagues and teams in general; they have big expenses as well. Many youth football groups are having a hard time outfitting their players properly. Equipment expenses often exceed the money brought in by the fees charged to parents. Add to that the expense of paying coaches and paying referees, plus the additional expense of reserving “field time” for practice and games. It’s no wonder that fundraising has become an integral part of each league. In fact, most leagues now have a dedicated position for fundraising. This “Fundraising Director” is responsible for raising enough money to offset the difference between “player fees” and the actual expenses. Almost always, this difference is $5,000 or more.

A successful Fundraising Director must run multiple fundraisers at the same time in order to generate enough money to cover expenses. The season is just too short to run one promotion at a time. Choosing the most lucrative fundraisers is critical to the success of the entire fundraising program, and by extension, critical to the success of the entire league. The Fundraising Director also needs to choose fundraising items that are well accepted by every parent. As an example, those big chocolate bars (or any edible item, like popcorn and lollipops) are likely to be rejected by many parents. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to be raising a young athlete, and then buying him or her a 2,000 calorie candy bar, does it?!

Fundraising car magnets should be part of every leagues fundraising program. Personalized car magnets do so much more than just raise money (and they raise a lot of money). Car magnets increase awareness and league pride. Imagine 500 cars in your town with your Pop Warner Football Team magnet. Before long, that magnet will be so visible that the team logo will be woven into the fiber of the community.

Let us show you how easy it is to have custom magnet designed by one of our expert designers. Your magnet design is free, and you have no obligation to ever buy our magnets. For more information and to get started on your Free Virtual Magnet design, visit our website at www.arcmktg.com

Awareness & Fundraising Car Magnets

Fundraising Car Magnets for 5K and 10K Runs

Car Magnets can serve a higher purpose when used to bring awareness to an event that will commemorate a beautiful life and further a legacy.

The Runnifer is a 5k run that will help fund the Jennifer Stagnaro Memorial Scholarship. The magnets are a tribute to Jennifer’s love for running and her spirit and to raise awareness for the 5k run that will benefit a Great Valley High School graduating senior headed to college.

Car Magnets for Awareness and Fundraising

Jennifer Stagnaro, was a beautiful, kind, loving person.  Her best and favorite role for the past 15 years, was being a wonderful mother to her three beautiful children – Maggie, Annie and Drew – her greatest joy.  She also was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend to so many people who loved her right back.  Tragically, at age 45, she passed away on November 18, 2013, from a sudden cardiac event that occurred while she was out for a run – something else she loved to do.

Lost in their grief over Jennifer’s untimely passing, and looking for a way to honor and remember Jennifer, her family and friends created the Jennifer Stagnaro Memorial Fund.  The fund is designed to raise money to support college scholarships to graduating Great Valley High School students – where her daughter Maggie attends school, and where Annie and Drew will soon attend school.  The scholarship, which started in 2014, is given to a student who reflects the qualities that many most admired in Jennifer – her kindness and generosity, and her commitment to helping others and the community.  A college scholarship seemed an appropriate way to honor Jennifer because of her own background in education – she was a teacher and, more recently, had returned to substitute teaching – and her commitment to education which was reflected in her volunteer work for her children’s schools, the schools’ PTOs, and her passionate work to keep the local school board focused on its mission, even in the fact of challenging economic times.

Fundraising with Autism Awareness Car Magnets

Autism Awareness Car Magnets

Autism Awareness Car Magnets

Fundraising Car Magnets for Autism Awareness

One of the many ways that car magnets can provide a powerful message is through “cause marketing”. Autism Awareness is one of the causes that have embraced car magnets as a tool to get the message out to the people.

Most websites that offer Autism Car Magnets have generic magnets that are pre-printed and stocked in inventory. The advantage to this is that you can order 1 or 2 of these generic autism magnets, and you can get them pretty fast; usually shipping to you in about 3 days. These generic autism magnets usually cost about $5 each, plus shipping. Putting this type of magnet on your car makes you one of a thousand, if not one of 100,000. While this autism magnet will help the autism cause as a whole, it will do nothing to advance your own personal autism story.

But if you have bigger plans, and if you want a customized car magnet for your Autism Awareness Program, then ARC Marketing can offer a solution. Let one of our designers create a magnet specifically for your group. Customized magnets can provide more impact, create more fundraising dollars and shine the spotlight on your specific cause. Also, since you will be buying at least 50 of your custom car magnets, the price could well be lower than the generic magnets. 50 custom 5” oval magnets (designed exclusively for you) will cost only $3.50 each. Buy more and the price is even less. For example, buy 150 custom autism car magnets and the price goes down to $2.10 each. Sell those magnets for $5 each and the fundraising potential is huge! Mention this blog post and we will also pay your set-up charge (normally $50).

Don’t wait! Start creating awareness and start making money! You can do both with a custom car magnet from ARC Marketing!

Car Magnets for PTA and PTO Fundraising

Summer is here and that means your school has new Parent/Teacher Group Officers. It does not matter if you are with a PTA, PTO, PTSO or one of the many other types of Parent/Teacher groups… your new Officers have just been elected and now it is time to get to work.

One of the most important jobs for your Parent/Teacher Group is fundraising. Your group will be raising money so that you can help your school purchase certain things that were not in the school budget. If you are with an Elementary School Parent Group, you could be raising money for playground equipment or safety vests for street-crossing attendants. Maybe you are with a middle school, you could be helping pay for equipment for after-school sports. And if  you are with a high school, you could be helping to pay for prom expenses.

It doesn’t matter what grade your kids are in; their schools need your financial help more than ever in 2015. School budgets are razor-thin and the things we used to take for granted are no longer paid for by the schools and school districts.

Custom car magnets from ARC Marketing allow you to raise a significant amount of money while increasing school spirit. If your Parent/Teacher group sells only 250 magnets, it would be almost impossible not to double your money. Sell more, make more. It’s that simple.

ARC Marketing is known for designing and producing America’s most creative, most durable car magnets. Hundreds of schools trust their most important fundraiser to ARC Marketing every year. We invite you to join our long list of satisfied schools and let us design a car magnet that will put your annual fundraising effort on the fast-track. It’s easy to get started! Car Magnets for Soccer Club Fundraising

Soccer is the most popular youth sport in America (sorry Baseball!). Like every other youth sport, it’s very expensive to be the parents of a budding soccer superstar. I don’t need to go through the long list of expenses that you need to absorb as soccer-parents.

But here’s a partial solution; fundraising for your kid’s soccer team with custom car magnets. We can design a car magnet for your kids’s team that would rival those we make for professional soccer teams (yeah, we do that too). And getting started is easy; just click on this link and one of our talented graphic artists will create a unique, custom car magnet design for your team.

The team we’re featuring in this blog post is the New Scotland Soccer Club.

The New Scotland Soccer Club is celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year, and wanted a magnet to commemorate that event. This durable, attractive magnet is going to be on hundreds of cars in the Voorheesville area, and it will both increase awareness and raise money for the club.

Fundraising Car Magnets

Car Magnets are HOT

School Car Magnets for Fundraising

Car magnets are hot, and it’s easy to see why! They make your message visible to your entire community. They also make amazingly easy fundraising items.

Here’s a classic example of a car magnet success story…

Meadowbrook Elementary School PTA was looking for a new fundraiser. In the past, they had tried selling magazine subscriptions, chocolate bars, wrapping paper and similar items to raise money for their programs. All of the money raised from these fundraisers went to the school for new playground equipment, vests for the crossing guards, gifts for teachers and many other good causes. The sales usually meant that the children had to go door-to-door to sell these items. Obviously, this is not the safest way to conduct a fundraiser. In addition, almost everyone had a very good reason for not buying those products… “We already subscribe to every magazine we want”, or “I’m on a diet; I don’t want chocolate in the house!” This type of fundraiser was becoming unpopular and obsolete.

Then the Meadowbrook PTA had a brilliant idea. They had seen other schools and groups that had car magnets designed specifically for them. They searched the internet and found several companies that offered custom car magnets, and one of them was ARC Marketing. Most of the other websites made it difficult to get basic information, and even more difficult to figure out how to get started on their new car magnet. The ARC Marketing website was clear, concise and made it very easy to get started (just click on the Free Virtual Magnet button

Car Magnets for Elementary Schools

Car Magnets for Elementary Schools

Clicking on the Virtual Magnet button was the beginning of a very easy process to get their new magnet designed. Answering a few simple questions was all that was needed for an artist at ARC Marketing to create the first “Virtual Magnet”. This first Virtual Magnet was created and emailed directly to the president at the Meadowbrook PTA. After showing the Virtual Magnet to the board members, they requested a few changes via email. Within an hour, the revised Virtual Magnet was emailed back to the president. One more simple change was requested by the PTA, and again, another Virtual Magnet was emailed to the president. The board unanimously agreed that this version of the new Meadowbrook Elementary car magnet was perfect!

The PTA ordered 500 car magnets at $1.55 each (with UPS shipping charges, the total came to $815.00). They sold them for $7.50 each (our suggested fundraising price is $5 each, but most schools sell them for $6, $7.50 or $10 each). After selling all 500 magnets, the total amount collected came to $3,750. Subtract the $815 cost and they made a profit of almost $3,000!

Can you think of another fundraising item that returns a profit like that?

Here’s another benefit of using car magnets instead of big chocolate bars… awareness. Now, 500 cars have the Meadowbrook Elementary School car magnet on it. It is almost impossible to drive around town and not see dozens of cars with the Meadowbrook Elementary magnet.

Want another benefit? Car Magnets do not have a “shelf life”. If you have unsold chocolate bars after your fundraiser, they go bad after a certain date. Any unused magnets can sit in a storeroom until the next school year (if you have any leftovers), and they will be as good as the day we delivered them to you. Let us help you make your next fundraiser a success!

And car magnets are not just for schools…

Little League Baseball Teams make a lot of money with car magnets, as do Youth Football Teams, Swim TeamsDance Schools,Elementary SchoolsMiddle SchoolsHigh Schools, you name it.

We make car magnets for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.

We make car magnets for Church groups,YMCA and Kid’s Camps.

We make car magnets for Cancer Awareness,Autism Awareness and Epilepsy Awareness.

We make car magnets for Animal Shelters and Humane Societies.

In fact, I don’t think that there is a group in America that would not benefit from the revenue and awareness created by a custom car magnet from ARC Marketing.

Your group can benefit too, and it is so easy. Just click here to get started on your Free Virtual Magnet.

Car Magnets for Cancer Awareness

Car Magnets for Cancer Awareness and Fundraising
Team CMMD recently had us produce a custom car magnet for their running team. The magnet will be used for two main purposes: to raise awareness for Team CMMD, and to raise money for the American Cancer Society. You can help support Team CMMD by buying one of their magnets.  Just click  on the link at the end of the following blog. Here is their story…

TEAM CMMD — Running Strong. Fighting Cancer.

December 31, 2012—The Beginning
Winter was upon us. I felt fat and tired. Everything hurt—especially my broken heart. My dearest aunt and mentor had just been diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer and was fighting for her life. I can honestly say that was one of the lowest, darkest times of my life.

In a moment of desperation, I started Team CMMD; a charity team to run Philadelphia’s 10 mile Broad Street Run. Our team’s charity was the American Cancer Society, and our original goal was $10,000.

From the day that team was born, amazing things happened. On May 5, 2013, just 126 days after its inception, my team of forty seven runners crossed the Broad Street finish line. Many, many of those 47 had NEVER run a single mile before—in those 126 days, they accomplished more than many of them believed they could.

We had trained for this ten mile race together in mind, body, and most of all spirit. All told, we, with the help of local businesses, family, and friends raised over $65,000 for the American Cancer Society. That translates to 65 colonoscopies, 65,000 occult stool tests, or 650 doctor’s visits—in a word that money SAVED lives by providing screening and treatment for individuals who wouldn’t have received them otherwise. Three of those people had cancerous tumors and they were able to be treated.

My aunt is doing great this year: colostomy and cancer free and back to doing what she does best–doctoring. She just threw her son the most beautiful wedding that was a celebration of so many things–love, life, good health.

Not everyone we ran for was so lucky. Debi M. lost her fight with ocular melanoma at 43. Debi was at the Broad Street finish line cheering for us. She died less than a month later. She left behind 5 kids and a devastated husband. Joe D., who supported our team endlessly, now is nearing the end of his eight year battle with colo-rectal cancer. Rosella W. battled a ruthless breast cancer bravely for three years but lost her fight just days after we ran Broad Street. Her last words to me were “I don’t want to die, Christine.” Those words haunt me. I cannot sit back and watch cancer do its evil without doing something…can you?

Year Two

This year our goal is big…but not bigger than the brutality and mercilessness of cancer.

100 Runners. 10 miles. $100,000. We’ve surpassed our runners goal with 152. We’re training individually and doing weekly group runs—even in the extreme cold and snow this winter. We’re raising funds and raising awareness, and now that we’ve got an official logo, we’re selling car magnets to enhance our fundraising efforts.

At our last group run, our cars filled the parking lot at our meeting spot. Someone stopped us on the trail and asked us who we were and what we were doing. When we told him, he said, “I knew it had something to do with those magnets.”

Fundraising Car Magnets

Lollipop vs. Car Magnet

Car Magnets for Fundraising

Car Magnets for Fundraising

Fundraising Car Magnets

Literally, just now, I bought a lollipop for a dollar. It was for a fundraiser for a local school. Two children were going door to door selling them. The lollipop looked just like any other lollipop, and I don’t know what makes it worth a dollar (is that the going rate for a lollipop these days?). Anyway, it is just a small round lollipop the size and shape of a tootsie-roll pop. I probably wouldn’t pay a quarter for it at a Convenience Store.

I wonder how much money the school is making off of each lollipop. Not knowing the cost of lollipops at wholesale, I guess the school could have paid 50¢ each for them and is doubling their money. I almost said “no thanks” because I don’t eat much candy and I don’t really want it in the house. But I bought one anyway (good neighbor policy). It’s 2014 and I would assume that most people are looking at high fructose sugary snacks a little differently than they did in the past. I wonder how many other neighbors are wondering what to do the lollipop they just bought. I also don’t even know which school they attend. Maybe they just bought 20 lollipops at the 7-11 for a 50¢ each and are making money for themselves; you never know.

Now, if they had ordered custom made car magnets with their school name and school logo, they would probably have an easier time with this fundraiser. Nobody looks at a car magnet and wonders if it will make them fat, or affect their health. They also wouldn’t need to wonder what school these kids attended; it would be printed on the magnet.
Perhaps the best news for the school is that a car magnet fundraiser will make a lot more money and even raise awareness for the school. If that school had ARC Marketing print 500 car magnets, they would have made $1,685 in pure, clean profit. At 50¢ profit per lollipop, that’s 3,370 lollipops (and about 10,000 cavities). Maybe the local dentist should be selling the lollipops.

So the moral of this story is: schools should get out of the business of unhealthy snacks and get into the business of branding themselves with a custom car magnet.
